Abstract
Am Beispiel einer um 1500 entstandenen und heute verschollenen Kamee aus der Grimani-Sammlung verfolgt der Beitrag die Praktiken der visuellen Überlieferung von für antik gehaltenen Artefakten in Druckgrafiken vom 16. bis ins 18. Jahrhundert. Dabei wird analysiert, wann es sich bei der Abbildung um das Resultat einer Wiederverwendung einer bereits existierenden Druckplatte handelt und welche Veränderungen dabei vorgenommen wurden, oder wann eine ältere Vorlage für eine neue Publikation kopiert wurde.
Translation of abstract (English)
Using the example of a cameo from the Grimani collection from around 1500, the current whereabouts of which are unknown, the article traces the practices of the visual representation of artefacts considered to be antique in prints from the 16th to the 18th century. It analyses when the illustration is the result of a reuse of an existing printing plate and what changes are made to it, or when an older reproduction was copied for a new publication.
