Abstract
Among other things, a research stay in Paris provided the opportunity to compare the source material indexed by the Antiquitatum Thesaurus project with the corresponding ancient artifacts. This unique experience made it possible, for example, to check the accuracy of the drawings, such as the transcriptions of hieroglyphs, and the size ratio between the graphics and the surviving artifacts. Digital projects and electronic data indexing and management are now an integral part of humanities research. The growing number of digitized material and databases facilitates the study of heterogeneous and scattered material by enabling networking. Nevertheless, as demonstrated by way of example, it is still very valuable today to consult at least a representative selection of the various works in the original.
