Abstract
"New Links Between Different Systems" is a documentation of the first cross-disciplinary collaboration between science and visual arts at Heidelberg University, jointly established by CRC 1225 ISOQUANT, a Collaborative Research Centre for quantum physics and Kalamari Klub, an international collective for the celebration of analog photography. From 2020 to 2023, the project was built upon an extensive dialog between artists and scientists, consisting of residencies, workshops, exhibitions, publications and artist talks. Aiming to unveil previously uncharted connections between science and art, this publication is intended to work as a comprehensive documentation of the project and provide inspiration for other institutions interested in the potential of collaborations across disciplines.

"New Links Between Different Systems" ist eine Dokumentation der ersten interdisziplinären Zusammenarbeit zwischen Wissenschaft und bildender Kunst an der Universität Heidelberg, die gemeinsam vom SFB 1225 ISOQUANT, einem Sonderforschungsbereich für Quantenphysik, und dem Kalamari Klub, einem internationalen Kollektiv zur Förderung der analogen Fotografie, ins Leben gerufen wurde. Von 2020 bis 2023 basierte das Projekt auf einem intensiven Dialog zwischen Künstlerinnen und Wissenschaftlerinnen, der Residenzen, Workshops, Ausstellungen, Publikationen und öffentliche Vorträge umfasste. Mit dem Ziel, kreative Verbindungen zwischen Wissenschaft und Kunst zu schaffen, soll diese Publikation als umfassende Dokumentation des Projekts dienen und anderen Institutionen, die an der Potenzialität interdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit im Bereich Kunst und Wissenschaft interessiert sind, als Inspiration dienen.
