Translation of abstract (English)

1655 saw the first dispatches of invaluable artworks and crafts robbed in Poland by the Swedish army. Graveyard and garden sculptures, fountains, precious architectural details of palaces, manor houses and churches were stolen, window frames, portals and even several metre-long cornices torn out, marble columns, benches, window sills and floors taken. It was not uncommon for the overloaded punts to sink in the Vistula River. In the early 20th century it became possible to lift a few dozen marble carvings and decorations stolen from Warsaw residences from the riverbed. The History Department of the University of Warsaw returned to the search in 2009 and in 2012 six tons of stone elements were lifted. Altogether a few hundred objects were salvaged, including elements of the Kazimierzowski Palace.
