Abstract

Das Germanische Nationalmuseum verwahrt seit 1857 den silbernen Siegelstempel der Heidelberger Universität. Wie neue kunsttechnologische Untersuchungen und die Geschichte des Typars gezeigt haben, kann es sich bei diesem prominenten Objekt jedoch nicht um das spätmittelalterliche Original aus dem Jahre 1386 handeln.

Translation of abstract (English)

The Germanisches Nationalmuseum has had custody of the silver seal matrix of the University of Heidelberg since 1857. However, it has now been determined through art-technological investigations and the reconstruction of its history, that this prominent object is not the late medieval original from 1386.
