Abstract
This article discusses some works of art by Giovanni Segantini, Alfred Kubin and Paul Klee and places them in relation to these artists' views on sexuality and the idea of the libidinal economy, which has its origins in ancient medicine and the philosophy of the 18th and 19th centuries. In particular, the body-hostile and often openly mysogonistic views of these artists come to light.
