Abstract
The article deals on the one hand with the social emancipation of Renaissance artists with the help of offensively formulated scientific ambitions and on the other with Leonardo's idea of so-called ‘automimesis’, the involuntary self-expression, which is explained here with the help of his physiological and other studies.
