Abstract

Based on a comparison between the Salvator Mundi from the Cook Collection (now presumably in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and a Salvator painting from San Domenico Maggiore in Naples, the article argues that Leonardo's Salvator from the Cook Collection was a commissioned work that he soon lost interest in and therefore left unfinished. The painting was then completed by pupils.
